| Event Description: The BC Centre for Elder Advocacy and Support (BC CEAS) is seeking volunteers for our Seniors Advisory Task Force. This group is developing new workshops about elder abuse and will present these in the community. Meetings are held the last Tuesday of every month from 11:30 to 1:00 at our Downtown Vancouver office. There are also opportunities for groups of seniors to host a free workshop or focus group. | Event Description: On Thursday 05 November 2009 there will be a gathering to protest the HST on the steps of the Victoria Legislature at Noon until 2:00pm. This gathering is being organized by the BC Refederation Party. However, we are inviting all parties, groups, businesses, organizations, and individuals that are against the HST to join us and speak out on this issue. We believe that this issue transcends party lines and is something that requires a unified effort by all British Columbian s. The ability to veto bad legislation such as the HST proposed by ANY government is one of the core values of the BC Refederation Party. This is why we are 100% behind any initiatives to stop it, and why we will be promoting the peoples initiative which was begun by former premier Bill Vander Zalm and we will be handing out brochures to the public during the gathering, to provide information in this regard.
